Last July, on the 28th, in the Enoteca Italiana, Bastione San Filippo in the Medici Fortress, Siena, the final presentation of the six wine marketing projects done by the students of Oregon University were held. This was part of the Global Education, in which six wine farms collaborated.
Among these was the Fattoria Monecchio, for whom six students selected by the American university devised a wine marketing programme, targeting mainly the American market. Professors Roger Rutan and Jessica Lewis, with the help of our marketing manager, Francesca Semplici, aided their work.
At the presentation, which honoured the students´ work, were the coordinator of the GEO programme, Michael Price; the director of the Sienese enoteca, Silvia Minucci; Egidio Bianchi, the managing director of the same and representatives of the farms which collaborated in the project.
The young Americans who represent an important reality in the global wine market, thus came to the conclusion of their intense and profitable experience, full of discovery and new insight into the Tuscan wine-making reality.
This experience was also of great interest for the Fattoria Montecchio which, thanks to the collaboration with Oregon University and the Enoteca Italiana, has strengthened its ties with the American wine market that has appreciated Italian wines for several years.
